National Leadership 100 Sunday Observed for Fifteenth Year

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America will issue an Encyclical on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod designating October 22, 2023, the Sunday prior to the Feast Day of Saint Iakovos on October 23, as the fifteenth observance of National Leadership 100 Sunday. The celebration is held on the Name Day of Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory, or a Sunday in proximity to it, in his honor as the Founder of Leadership 100.

Parish priests throughout the nation will read the Encyclical at the Divine Liturgy and distribute materials on the support provided by Leadership 100 for the National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, as well as for ministries in every Metropolis.

Demetrios G. Logothetis, Chairman of Leadership 100, stated:

“The annual observance of National Leadership 100 Sunday in parishes across the nation is a testimony to the commitment of Leadership 100, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024, and to the vitality of our Church in America. We continue our unwavering support for the National Ministries of our Archdiocese, true to the legacy of Archbishop Iakovos.”

Today, Leadership 100 counts 1,281 members from a broad spectrum of Greek Orthodox leaders, men and women of all ages from every field of endeavor. Since its founding, Leadership 100 has distributed $75 million in grants to support the National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Metropolis Ministries, and humanitarian needs in the nation and around the world.
